Cops probe death of two

The St James police are probing the death of two men in the parish on Thursday.

THE STAR understands that the men, both employees attached to the St James Parish Council, were reportedly killed by an out-of-control motor car while they were debushing the Pye River Cemetery in Montego Bay.

The dead men have been identified as Hugh Gordon and Clifford Tomlinson, both of St James addresses.

Clearing overgrown bushes

Reports are that Gordon and Tomlinson were clearing overgrown bushes from the perimeter wall of the cemetery when they were struck by the car.

It is further reported that the driver, who has been admitted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in serious condition, was travelling from the Fairfield direction when he lost control of the vehicle.

The car reportedly climbed the embankment and struck the parish-council workers.
