DONS FLEE ISLAND ON BOAT?
THE STAR has learnt that the immense pressure from the cops in the St Catherine North Police Division has forced the reputed leader of the One Order gang and his right-hand man to flee the island by boat.

Word has been circulating that the men left the island a short time after the General Election.

Police sources while being tight-lipped about this confirmed that they had received word that the men had fled.

THE STAR understands, however, that even though the gang's topman and his assistant have fled, the gang is not without leadership.

The One Order gang has been relatively quiet over the last two years, however, there have been reports of an upsurge in criminal activities in communities domin-ated by the gang.

Since the start of the year, THE STAR understands that the police have ramped up their crime fighting tactics with curfews, spot checks and targeted raids in the division.

THE STAR also understands that the police are keeping their promise to target the main players in criminal gangs.

In recent reports, the police have said that members of the One Order gang were behind two drive-by shootings that left four persons dead in different sections of the parish.

THE STAR understands that the One Order gang aligns itself with the Opposition Jamaica Labour Party while the Clansman gang supports the ruling People's National Party.

It is said that gangs aligned to the ruling party usually cause less trouble.
