A St Catherine woman who dragged out the braids of another during a fight is to be sentenced for unlawful wounding on June 5. She is Shereta Stephenson, labourer of Kitson Town, St Catherine. When the accused appeared before Resident Magistrate Marcia Dunbar-Green on Friday, Stephenson admitted she injured the complainant. The court ordered a social-inquiry record in order to sentence her. The court heard that on February 29, the complainant who has a child for the accused woman's boyfriend visited the house. Stephenson is said to have stripped herself naked and attacked the complainant. During the altercation, she grabbed on to her braids and dragged out a number of locks with flesh. The matter was reported to the Guanoboa Vale police station and investigation by constable Nicola Salmon led to her arrest. - R.T. |
