The amusing comedy-drama, 'The Politician', which stars Andrea 'Delcita' Wright and Keith 'Shebada' Ramsey, two of the most popular and sought-after personalities in Jamaican theatre is to make its way to the Washington Gardens community on March 23 in a charity effort which will aid in the refurbishment of the community centre. Orlando 'Eddy' Sinclair, president of the Washington Gardens Citizens' Association who is among those who are a part of the project, said that they decided to bring the play to the community because the centre was in a state of disrepair and he saw the play as a good way to help out. "The two characters nuh normal, and it's always pure niceness when Shebada and Delcita clash on the stage. Part proceeds of the show will go to refurbishing the community centre because it really needs it," he said. Sinclair also mentioned that Shebada may even feature some of his new music or premiere his new dance, the 'Goody Two Shoes' at the event. Shebada is gearing up to deliver a good performance and told The WEEKEND STAR, "It's like we're telling out everything that goes on in politics, to the best of our knowledge, in a comedic format." Sinclair said the show is no longer playing at theatres, so through this effort they are giving its fans another chance to see it at the community centre. Tickets for the show cost $1,000 presold and $1,200 at the gate. It begins at 8:30 p.m. Sinclair hopes he will receive good support for the show and urges all to come out and support the cause, saying that those who have not yet seen the play will get a 'bellyful of laughter'.
