Justice for a rape victim |

Dear Pastor,
This is my first time writing to you, but I always read your column and I say keep up the good work. I just read the letter about the girl who was raped by four males. Reading it made tears come to my eyes. I am really sorry for her and I hope she will get justice for what had happened to her. I am 19 years of age and I think the reason why her story touched me so much is because when my mom was pregnant with me, she was raped by a family friend and I also have a sister to think about. Persons who do things like this should be executed and not put into prison. People should think about their female relatives before they do certain things to other people's girl children because they wouldn't want these things to happen to their own. They should also realise that these things destroy people's lives and their families. L.K. Dear L.K., I would have loved to hear whether your mother had reported to the police the family friend who had raped her while she was pregnant. If she didn't, she made a mistake. No mercy should have been shown to him. That was wickedness. I am glad that you are doing well and I hope that you would get a good education and be in a position to make a good contribution to society at large. Pastor |
