The Westmoreland police are investigating the first double murder in the parish since the start of the year.

Dead are 55-year-old Alfred Barrett, tour operator, of Mount Airy and 31-year-old Kirkland McKenzie, chef, of Good Hope in the parish.

Both men were reportedly fatally shot at the Blue Dice Restaurant and Bar about 11:30 p.m., onTuesday.

It is reported that the men were among a group sitting in the restaurant having drinks when two men walked in.

Reports are that the chef, who is employed to the restaurant, allegedly threw a bottle at one of the men who had entered the establishment.

Further reports are that the tour operator who had gone to the restaurant to collect food, was caught in the hail of bullets fired at the chef by the men who had entered.

Both men died on the spot.
