Music producer Michael Anthony Smikle has released the 'Calm Sea' rhythm on the C Spring Production label. For the last few months, Smikle has been locked away in the studio fine-tuning his latest project at his studio based in City Plaza on the Port Henderson Road in Portmore, St Catherine. And now all that hard work is finally paying off. The studio has become the favourite haunt of many Portmore-based artistes such as the label's recent signing, Bertus, and reggae music insiders have lauded the quality of his projects. "The response was good to Calm Sea because it has gained popularity in the reggae marketplace to the point where I have split the project in two, Calm Sea Culture with new artistes like Mr Tie and Khalij, and Calm Sea Lover's Rock wid Bertus, and others," Smikle said. Other rhythm projects in the pipeline include 'Smooth Swing', co-produced with CD God, with artistes such as Bertus, Anthony Green, Black Light, and Teardrop, and the 'Pinnacle' featuring Bertus, Beres Brown, Fras Judgment, Tweetykkay, J Silk, Richie Bangings, Renee from Digicel Rising Stars, and Iqula. "I plan to drop the Smooth Swing and Pinnacle next week," Smikle said. But it is the Calm Sea that is making all the headlines so far, and was It is regarded as one the best one-drop riddim projects to have emerged in reggae in recent times, and featured heavyweight acts such as Lutan Fyah, and Determine, Beres Brown of Digicel Rising Stars fame, and new artistes such as J Silk, Tabitha Cshae, Anthony Green, Mr Tie, Richie Banging and Khalij. "Big up Dem Fi Know Records, who have given me some great riddims for Calm Sea and Pinnacle music projects," Smikle said. Check out the Calm Sea project on reggae iTunes, Amazon and other music websites.
