Following the success of his collaboration with dancehall artiste Popcaan on the hit single, Party Shot, produced by TJ Records, former entourage member and disc jockey Quick Cook says he would like to pursue a serious career as a recording artiste.

Quick Cook is also the originator of popular slangs used in dancehall such as 'less than three minutes' and 'river stone', which is also the title of Assassin's most recent mixtape.

Quick Cook revealed that he has always been involved in music, but only decided to become an artiste a year ago.

"I was a disc jockey wey play on a sound name Fire Q, then I went solo as DJ Muschino, but being an all-rounder, mi always a promote artistes and was even a road manager at one point," he said.

The artiste, who was a member of reggae/dancehall artiste Anthony B's entourage, says his life changing encounter with music came when Popcaan requested an intro for his song Party Shot.

"Mi deh a di studio and Popcaan shout mi sey mi mus come duh a intro fi him. Then mi guh inside the booth and sey mi lines and it tek off quick quick in less dan three minutes from dey suh," he said.

The artiste was later featured in the music video for the song, and has since inked collaborations with other artistes like Konshens, Assassin, DeMarco, Bugle, Krymist and Charly Black.

"Mi haffi sey nuff respect to Bugle because a him give me guidance, and show mi nuff things about music as well as Krymist. Him always show mi stuff and help mi write songs," he said.

Quick Cook recently returned from Texas where he performed alongside Bugle. The artiste is also promoting collaborations such as Welding with Charly Black and Drinking A Lot with mentor Bugle.

"Di people dem si sey mi a hard working youth. Mi drop offa mi bike and chip up and mi still out deh a promote music. A long time mi inna di streets a promote song suh like how mi know the code mi can duh my thing now ... artistes have to just keep focused," he concluded.
