Star Tell Me Pastor

I can't get pregnant again

Dear Pastor,

Greetings in the name of Jesus. I am having a problem and I would like you to help me. I am 39 and I have three children. The youngest of the three is four years old and I would like to have another child but I am having problems. I don't know why I can't get pregnant again. I live with my boyfriend and he doesn't have any children. He would do anything to get me pregnant. I don't know if he is the problem. I don't want to lose him to another woman because he helps me a lot.

He sleeps a lot and I quarrel about him sleeping too much and I don't know, pastor, but please try and tell me what to do.

L.W., Clarendon

Dear L.W.,

Give God thanks for the three children that you have. Stop fretting yourself about wanting to please your present boyfriend about wanting to have another child. He took you with these children and he should accept them as his very own. A 39-year-old woman should not be eager to have anymore children.

I am glad that this man takes good care of you. You did not mention his age, but perhaps he is unable to impregnate you. But, as I said before, you should not be eager to get pregnant. If both of you were married, and you were sure that he would be true and faithful to you, and he had a house, and he wasn't trapped in debt, perhaps you could consider it.

But surely not in your present situation. Remember that having a child by a man does not guarantee that he will remain with you. If this man is prepared to marry you, you should talk to your doctor about whether or not it is safe to get pregnant again.
