Detectives seek public's help in police's murder case |

Detectives from the Mandeville Police Station are appealing to anyone who may be able to assist them with information about two men who murdered a 58-year-old former police officer at a bar in New Forest, Manchester, yesterday, to make contact with them at 965-4467 immediately. Dead is Kenneth Guthrie of Downs district in the parish. Reports garnered by the CCN are that about 6:30 p.m., Guthrie was among patrons at the bar when two men with guns entered. They immediately ordered everyone to remain where they were then reportedly opened gunfire hitting Guthrie. The men then robbed him of his firearm before escaping in a grey Toyota Probox motor car. The police were summoned and Guthrie was later pronounced dead at hospital.
