Woman sentenced for assault |

|
A fine of $10,000 or six months in prison was the ruling handed down in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday to a woman charged with assault occasioning bodily harm. She is Kerry-Ann Davidson. It is alleged that on December 11 last year, Davidson, who was washing, went to throw away water. The complainant, who had been outside at the time, barely missed the water from soaking her and told Davidson that if it had touched her there would have been a problem between them. leaving the door open It is further alleged that after several times leaving the washroom door open, the complainant kept going back to close it. Davidson borrowed her boyfriend's phone, which was used to call the landlord. An altercation then developed between both women, which resulted in Davidson being drenched. Subsequent to that, Davidson slapped the complainant in her face. Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey noted that Davidson had no right to slap the complainant and that it would cost her and that simply drenching the complainant in return might have sufficed. |
