The popular BlackBerry phone is now being used locally by at least one prostitute to promote her sexual services.
A local prostitute, who goes by the name Cherry, has been using the Messenger service to distribute a flyer which encourages men to hit her up and get their freak on. The flyer has reportedly generated a lot of talk and controversy with several other BBM users sending it and others using it as their profile picture. The rather graphic flyer has a picture of Cherry in four different positions, including one where she is playing with her breasts and another with a dildo. The wording on it encourages men to contact her for oral sex services and for 'proper' sexual intercourse. The price, according to the advertisement is $1,500. phone confirmation Two telephone numbers are provided on the flyer and when THE STAR called one of these, the girl on the other end of the phone confirmed that she offered the services and gave us her St Andrew location. She said the BlackBerry flyer is just a way of letting people know about her services. When THE STAR contacted the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, a representative said that prostitution is illegal and is considered a misdemeanour but is something difficult to prove. "For an arrest to be made, the offence would have to take place in the presence of the police," the representative said. The police also noted that if the flyer is made public, the offending person could also be charged for producing a sexual publication. |
