Bailiff on rape charge - Trial to continue today

A case involving a bailiff who is accused of raping a woman who he had invited to his home to help him decorate his kitchen is to continue in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court today.

The accused, a 40-year-old man, who is on bail, was reportedly charged with rape after the complainant, a 21-year-old bible college student reported the matter to the police.

The complainant is said to be a friend of the accused man's woman.

The incident reportedly occurred on March 4, last year, in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth.

It is reported that the complainant was asked by the accused to visit his home and offer her advice on the decor of his kitchen.

The accused was said to be refurbishing his multi-million dollar home.

It is reported that the accused asked the complainant for her assistance because his children's mother is clue-less about decorating.

The incident was reported to the police and the accused was subsequently arrested and charged.
