New court date set for assault case

A return to court on April 12 was ordered by Senior Resident Magistrate (RM) Judith Pusey in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, in a case involving a man who is charged with unlawful wounding.

He is Tamari Trew and his fingerprints were also ordered taken by the RM.

The court heard that both the accused and the complainant worked at the same place, and a meeting was held days before the incident by the head of security regarding playing on the worksite as this could cause someone to lose their job.

It is alleged that on the day of the incident, the complainant refused to play around with Trew and went into a dressing room to have his breakfast.

Trew, the court heard, followed him inside where the complainant again told him he was not interested in playing and shoved him. A brief tussle occurred between both men and Trew left. He later returned and from behind, inflicted stabbed wounds to the complainant.

Both men were told by RM Pusey to return to court in early April.
