Duppy attack at hospital? - Exec denies claims of ghosts chasing staff

There was some frenzy and fear that there might have been an attack by ghosts at the Spanish Town Hospital on Tuesday after a member of staff complained that she was being chased by persons who were not seen by anyone else.

Information reaching THE WEEKEND STAR is that the unprovoked female member of staff at the health facility quickly got attention when she began shouting and sought help from her colleagues as she explained that persons were chasing her.

Assistance was quickly offered by her colleagues who soon realised that they were unable to see the person or persons whom the woman said were after her.

A source told THE WEEKEND STAR that "the nurse start run up and down and scream and seh one duppy come inna the room dressed inna nurse clothes".

"See the woman deh, see the woman deh, unno no see her?" the woman was reported to have shouted as she pointed in the direction of her attacker(s).

Nonetheless, Lyttleton Shirley, chairman of the South East Regional Health Authority dismissed the claims that it was the presence of ghosts that contributed to the incident at the hospital.

"A member of staff fell and after she fell, she got into a type of behaviour that had her shouting and saying that she saw people running and chasing after her," Shirley remarked.

Furthermore, "she was taken to the ER and sedated where she spent the night ... . She has since been discharged and has been given some days off," he added.

Interestingly, Shirley emphasised that after the woman was treated, she had no recollection of what had happened to her nor did she remember behaving in a questionable manner.
