Gareth Davis Sr, Star Writer Two women are in hospital nursing stab wounds while one man is dead following a vicious attack by a man believed to be an unsound mind in the quiet community of Clear Spring in Portland. Dead is Anthony Royes, 45, a higgler from Clear Spring. Police have declined to release the women's names. Deputy Superintendent Wayne Cameron of the Port Antonio police told THE STAR that Royes was reportedly stabbed with a farming fork and the alleged attacker is in police custody. The incident took place shortly after 8 a.m. yesterday. "We are searching for the murder weapon. As a result we brought in the fire team to pump water from a pit near a house, which was filled with water. We have not yet recovered it, DSP Cameron said. The police also recovered a quantity of ganja which they believe belongs to the suspect. The two women were reportedly stabbed in their arms and at the back of their heads. |
