Star Tell Me Pastor

What a man sows, he reaps
Dear Pastor,

I am so sorry for that young girl who was forced by that policeman to have sex with him, ended up getting pregnant and was left hurting. I don't know why people think they can do acts of evil and get away. People will not get away with evil acts. It doesn't matter how long it takes, it will either happen to you or that dear child you love. "What a man sows, he reaps."

I just want to clarify something she said. She said she has lived in America a long time, and stated that a 12-year-old who was molested by an adult cannot get away in another country. Is she serious? Look at how many hundreds of thousands of Catholic cases are being exposed in the United States.

I go to a huge church in the Midwest and we had training on how to protect children from being sexually abused.

What they do in America when girls 12 and under are raped is that the abusers kill the victims to prevent them from speaking, so if they were impregnated we don't know. It is sad but real.

May God ease her pain and continue to bless you.

H.R., U.S.A.

Dear H.R.,

Let me put this into proper perspective. the writer of the letter has alleged that she was sexually abused by a policeman when she was 12 years old. As a result, she became pregnant. She went to live abroad. When this policeman was informed that the girl was pregnant, he said he was not responsible for impregnating her. He left the island and she has come to realise that he lives in Canada, but does not know his address. She would like to see him. She said she is sure he is the father of the child because she has never had a man before she has sex with him. She is now living in America.

I was given the name of the police station where the man worked when the incident happened. It is true that many paedophiles go after children, have sex with them, and many have killed them. However, this was a man of the law and he should have known that part of his duty was to protect children, not to sexually abuse them.

My prayer is that this man would come forward and admit to what he has done, get to know his child and move on from there. I do not get the impression that the mother wants to see him go to prison, but she would love to know that her child gets to know his/her father. I repeat, his name and the police station was mentioned. This young woman has suffered much and we should all pray for her.
