|||||
D'Angel - File Currently donning the titles; entrepreneur, mother and recording artiste, multifaceted entertainer D'Angel will later this month append two additional credits to her name that of: author and promoter. The prominent Dancehall diva, whose given name is Michelle Downer, is set to unveil her authorial debut Love Triangle on February 29, a book dubbed "The most controversial dancehall novel." The novel gives an in-depth perspective into the life of a young lady, two guys and a lot of relationship drama. But it's not the threesome many may be expecting. According to D'Angel, "This is not a kiddy story. This is a story for the mature audience, much like some movies and music are for those of a certain level of maturity. And no, it's not porn, soft or hard, but we could call it Dancehall with a Soca undertone - interestingly pulsating," she said. The book marks the first part of a two-book deal with Pageturner Publishing House as she will also release an autobiographical entitled, Break Free later this year, which will talk about her many successes and controversies on and off stage. Love Triangle will be available in book stores across Jamaica, including Sangster's Book Stores. Meanwhile, tomorrow the Stronger singer will launch the inaugural staging of her weekly event 'An'So Thursdays' at the Cookies Night Club in Port Henderson, St Catherine. This boast a star-studded line-up of dancehall heavyweights including: Beenie Man, I-Octane, Popcaan, KipRich, Khago, Blak Ryno, Ninja Kid, Lady Saw, Zamunda , G-Whizz among others. "The word An'So has become a brand unto itself and this is one of the many ventures I am embarking on to solidify the name. The event is going to be a party vibe with a difference, including weekly attractions. Also fans can look out for my birthday celebrations on April 8 at Hotel Commingle, Westmoreland. Confirmed acts include: Cocoa Tea, Beenie Man, Zamunda, Charly Blacks, Khago, Kiprich," she said. Despite her many caps, D'Angel continues to work assiduously in the studio and is expected to release several
projects courtesy of Markus Records, Good Good Production and Cashflow Records. A medley video premier is also in the pipeline for the racy single Take Off Your Clothes with Soca artiste Devon Matthews. |
