W'house cut Portmore lead

Second-place Waterhouse cut Portmore United's lead in the Red Stripe Premier League to five points, following a 1-1 draw with Montego Bay United at the Waterhouse Mini-Stadium last night.

Jermaine 'Tuffy' Anderson gave the Drewsland team the lead in the 29th minute, taking advantage of some loose marking before putting away a powerful header past the MoBay custodian.

However, the Montego Bay team, who defended a 16-game unbeaten streak heading into the encounter, pulled level with five minutes from time. Former schoolboy standout striker Allan Ottey put away a neat finish in the 85th minute to ensure his team got a share of the spoils.

The point moved Waterhouse to 43 points, behind Portmore on 48, while MoBay moved to 34 points, but remained in seventh place behind Harbour View.
