Gunmen kill two in Spanish Town

Gunmen shot and killed two persons during separate attacks in Spanish Town, St Catherine, yesterday.

Those killed are Milton Douglas, 49-year-old, self-employed of Windsor Road, Spanish Town, and Richard Howell, 31, lab technician of Spanish Town.

The police told The Star that persons were awaiting transportation in the bus park along Burke and Windsor roads when two gunmen approached a stall. They reportedly fired a number of shots at Howell who collapsed..

As the men escaped on foot, they attacked and shot Douglas who was riding his bicycle. He died on the spot. Howell died after being taken to the Spanish Town Hospital.

The incident disrupted the operation of the park sending persons scurrying to get out of Spanish Town.

"When mi si di gunman dem start to fire mi just dive off in the dirty water. It look clean to me at dat time. Mi never know sey it dirty," a commuter told The Star.

The shooting followed that of Sonia Bachas GoKul, 51-year-old, and her daughter, 31-year-old Indra GoKul, along March Pen Road about 10:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Both incidents are being probed by the St Catherine Major Investigation Task Force .
