It was a night of energy, excitement, and pure pink. As THE STAR team arrived moments after 12 a.m. for the staging of Pink at the Rev Nightclub in Portmore, St Catherine, last Saturday, patrons were seen trickling in the club for the birthday celebration of Renee Brown, the promoter of the event. At 1 a.m., DJ Tobbz was thrilling the audience with hits from artistes such as Beenie Man, Mavado, Aidonia and others. The ladies moved their bodies to the beats while the men stood and observed, some making advances and wining up on them. By 2 a.m., the event saw women outnumbering their male counterparts, which gave the selector something to talk about. "Whole heap more woman deh yah dan man, mi like it," he said to salutes as he played Vybz Kartel featuring Russian's Get Gyal Anywhere, sending the patrons in a frenzy. another milestone It was not until 3 a.m. that the birthday girl Renee decided to cut her cake. The crowd gathered around the table to celebrate with her. There everyone sang happy birthday to a delighted Renee, who, accompanied by her male counterpart, cut her nicely decorated pink and white cake. "I want to thank God and everyone for coming out tonight. It is a blessing to live to see another milestone," she said. Immediately after the cake cutting, dancehall's new sensation Sekkle Dung Wendy gave the audience a blissful performance where she belted out songs such as Work Fi Mi Ting, Sekkle Sumting, Like That and Sekkle Nini. They were all well received from the audience. THE STAR team left the venue shortly after 4 a.m. as DJ Tobbz continued his set.
