Ras Penco drops mixtape to promote singles

International recording artiste Ras Penco has ampedup promotion of his new singles, Fire Burn and Your Love, by dropping a new mixtape that features heavyweight acts such as Jadakiss and rapper Lil Flip.

The Takeover mixtape was just the first step towards the ultimate goal of a reggae-hip hop flavoured album which will be due out this summer.

"I have been working on an album with some international companies like Signature Entertainment and Terminal 3, Notice Productions and Upzrize Music, and the hard work is paying off ... the buzz is growing and with my new singles, Fire Burn and Your Love, the sky is the limit," he said.

The Your Love video hit #4 on the CVM Hitlist in the first week of February.

The artiste, whose breakout hit, Thousand Miles Away, made him a hot commodity in mainstream urban markets,is particularly pleased with the response tothe newJadakiss remixsingle, Any Weh Di Money Deh. He revealed that the connection was arranged by his production team.

"Signature Entertainment made the connections, because they are the company that I am working with right now and they are internationally based and they do most of the ground-based work," he said.

The remix was released in January on Penco's Takeover mixtape and gota major buzz in the New York underground mixtape market. The project is being bankrolled bySignature Entertainment with whom Penco has been working the last 15 months.

"This is the first time I have worked withsuch a big rapper, and the response has been phenonemal. It was a good accomplishment, crossing over gives me a bigger audience and increases my fan base," he said.The artiste also has a single featuring platinum selling rapper Lil Flip.

In the meantime,Ras Penco is pressing ahead with the promotion of his 'Takeover' mixtape that also includinga remix with R&B singer Keith Murray.

"My management is doing a promotional package with HOT 97 to get it out there to the world. The remix itself was officially released last Friday and it is getting play on urban radio stations in the US. Universal Records is interested in the mixtape Takeover project, and, most of all, the Jadakiss remix. Things are looking great fi the 2012, the ting ah go shot to a different level now," he said.
