WOMAN BEATEN FOR FREAKY MESSAGE |

A married woman who pleaded guilty to slapping another woman in her face because she sent her husband freaky messages was fined $25,000 or six months in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.
She is 37-year-old Autherine Waugh from a Kingston 11 address who has been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. On Tuesday, the court heard that Waugh and the complainant have been in a long-standing dispute over Waugh's husband. The accused told the court that she approached the complainant recently to warn her to stop sending her husband messages on Facebook when the complainant started using abusive language. It is reported that the irate accused then slapped the complainant in the face several times causing pain and swelling. The court heard that the accused has spoken to the complainant on several occasions about her husband. However, Resident Magistrate Lorna Shelly Williams told the accused that whatever problems she is facing, they cannot be solved by using violence. |
