A woman Who pleaded guilty to padding her bottom and strapping her legs with over three pounds of ganja was sentenced in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

She is 29-year-old Tashka Hinds who was apprehended in a routine spot check at the Norman Manley International Airport on Sunday.

Hinds, who was about to board a flight to Trinidad and Tobago, was charged with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, taking steps to export ganja and conspiracy to export ganja.

She was fined $5,200 or three months for possession of ganja, and $15,600 or three months for taking steps to export ganja.

The charge of dealing in ganja was discharged and the conspiracy to export ganja charge was withdrawn

Hinds was also sentenced to eight months' imprisonment and if the fines are not paid, the sentences are to run concurrently.

Funds amounting to $10,000 which were taken from her were forfeited.
