Rasbert Turner, Star Writer An intensive investigation is under way following the seizure of two illegal guns, one of which was seized on the Spanish Town Hospital compound. Police reports are that about 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, the police was called to the Spanish Town Hospital. Upon their arrival, it was revealed that during repairs to a room near ward number eight an object in a white bag fell from a drawer. It was picked up by the officer. When searched, a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol loaded with a magazine of 10 rounds of ammunition was found. "This incident is a very serious breach. It could be that the weapon was being stored to commit criminal acts on the compound," a policeman said This followed the seizure of another weapon one hour earlier in Homestead, Spanish Town. Reports are the police went into the community and a Smith and Wesson Springfield pistol was found in an abandoned building. Investigators said that both incidents are being investigated. |
