Remember nature on Valentine's Day

Sasha and Nadine were sitting facing each other in the school's cafeteria. The first-year university students had met on orientation day and were now good friends who shared everything. Sasha was busy telling Nadine about her new boyfriend Nathan. She was in love and talked about him constantly. More than anything else, she wanted to impress him.

"Sasha, he is very big on the environment. He's in the back-to-nature thing and the recognition of how important it is to treat our environment with respect. Valentine's Day is coming up and he's asked me to spend it with him. I've been trying to think of a Valentine gift that he would like. Any ideas?"

Nadine looked hard at her friend. Usually she was the one asking for advice as Sasha appeared to know everything. "Boy, you must really like this guy. You, asking for advice?"

"Nadine, don't play around. I thought of the usual chocolates and roses but they wouldn't work. He's going to talk about the wrapping creating unwanted waste and the fact that after a day or two the roses fade. I've watched him, he's very particular about these things."

"Aha, why don't you send him an electronic greeting card. Even though there is some electricity usage, the fact is that there is no paper to end up in the garbage. And you can make it very personal and special."

"Great idea! Anything else?"

"Yes man! Maybe the guidance counselling idea not too bad, you know, like a good backup to my degree. See, I start with you already."

"Nadine, come on man, I really like this guy!"

"Alright. Cook him a really nice meal from scratch. Since he's not Jamaican, you can impress him with some real Jamaican food. And with no leftovers, there's no waste."

"True, true. Lend me your recipe book. "

"I'm on a roll now. This one is sure to impress him. Take him somewhere natural and nice. Really pretty and interesting. In fact, you could go early enough and then cook him dinner afterwards. Make sure I'm bridesmaid in the wedding."

"Girl, at this rate you could be head cook and bottle washer. I'm sure to impress."
