Up to press time last night, the Kingston Eastern police were maintaining a strong presence in the Mountain View area after they were fired on while patrolling that part of the division.

It is reported that about 8 p.m., cops who were on patrol in the area were fired upon by armed thugs.

Information reaching THE STAR is sketchy, however, up to press time last night there were no reports of deaths or injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
