Fire destroys house in manchester

Fire of unknown origin destroyed a six-apartment dwelling in Blenheim Town, Manchester, yesterday morning.

Reports from the Newport police are that about 10:47 a.m., residents saw the house on fire and alerted the police, and a unit from the Mandeville Fire Department extinguished the blaze.

Loss is estimated at $4 million. No one was injured in the blaze.

The Newport police along with persons from the Jamaica Fire Brigade are at this time working assiduously to determine the cause of the fire.
