Rural, Jamaica, 'The Politicians', with Delcita, Shebada and the Stages massive, is heading your way.

The yearly Stages Productions roadshow starts this weekend.

The first show will be held on Saturday at the Jockey factory in Lucea, show time is 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday, the gang will journey to Clarendon for a 7:30 p.m. show at Quarry, Bustamante Highway, May Pen.

The production has been running non-stop for seven weeks and, in spite of this, there is still a great demand for the show.

It is a hilarious comedy-drama with a socio-political theme.

It is one of those plays that will cause you to laugh so hard that you ache in places unknown, but it also provokes thought and leaves you questioning certain beliefs.

It is obviously not a trite production and is worth every penny spent to see it.

The cast of The Politicians is looking forward to playing for rural Jamaica. Delcita and Shebada are at their very best and bring a lot of energy, enthusiasm and spice to the production.

dynamites in waiting

Individually, Delcita and Shebada are dynamites in waiting. Together, on the same stage, they explode. Their supporting cast - Christopher 'Johnny' Daley, Michael 'Stringbeans' Nicholson, Abigail Grant, Junior Williams, Stacy-Ann Brissett and Patrick Smith - adds another level to the excitement that unfolds each night.

Who doesn't love a Rastaman with a cause? Who wouldn't hate a woman-beating gangsta-politician? Then there is the lazy, inept, incumbent MP who keeps cheating poor people!

In addition, there is even greater mix-up when the Bible-toting pastor is forced into politics and a journalist turns political campaign manager against the wishes of her politician boyfriend.

Rural Jamaica is sure to get a treat when these talented thespians drop in.

If you want to get an insight into the lives of politicians on the job and behind the scenes, you will want to see The Politicians.

It is a neatly crafted story that explores love, loyalty, deception and, of course, politics, or is it politricks?

The story is awesome, technical effects on point and the acting is superb.

So, look out Lucea, watch out May Pen, Delcita, Shebada and the crew will be with you on the weekend.

The following week, the cast will be playing in Sav and Montego Bay. On Saturday, February 11, they will be at Manning's High School and the following day ar Pier One.

The Politicians will continue to play during the week, Tuesdays to Fridays, at 8:30 p.m. at the Stages Theatre, 15 Knutsford Boulevard, New Kingston.
