Mello Vibes continues to please its followers in 2012. The sizeable crowd that turned out at the Lime Golf Academy in New Kingston is testimony that the musical formula still works.

When The STAR team arrived at the venue just after midnight, patrons were already dancing, while others were patiently waiting at the gate to purchase their tickets.

The event's title sponsors, Campari, ensured that patrons were properly greeted by the beautifully attired Campari girls when they entered the venue.

"This way to the Campari bar if you want to try our free mixes," was the popular phrase.

Many patrons followed the lead, and as such, the Campari bartenders where kept busy, especially since other beverages attracted a price.

more than just music

The venue was well decorated and flanked by different booths, and this feature gave patrons an option to explore if they wanted more than just music.

DJ Marvin delivered a mix of pop music, while Richie Poo of veteran sound Silver Hawk gave patrons a vivid trip down memory lane, playing some timeless classics.

He played comedic songs such as Flourgon's Count Out and Agony by Red Dragon.

The DJ further engaged the audience when he played Tiger and Anthony Malvo's Come Back To Me followed by Papa San's I Will Survive.

Richie Poo seemed to be all about crowd participation, and he was successful in getting the audience to participate especially when he played Jump and Spread Out by Johnny P.

"Tonight is not one of dem nowadays party, so I want all man and woman to face each other when you are dancing, no behind thing," he said.

He also created some mischief by teasing the men in the audience.

"All who know sey dem a nuh boopsy," he yelled and went on to play Super Cat's Si Boops Deh.

The STAR left the venue just after 2 a.m., and the females in the party were actively participating to the instructions of Electric Boogie by Marcia Griffiths and Macarena by Los del rio.
