Last Saturday the contestants representing Castle Blue came with red, hot performances in the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall competition.

Patrons had difficulty picking their favourite because the majority of the talents gave thrilling displays.

Too Cute kicked off the action with her single Something Fi Something, delivering her content with maturity and confidence.

Resident Judge Miss Kitty said she showed maturity and composure, and gave her the nod of approval.

Sem G followed and the prince comfortably delivered his song to perfection. Miss Kitty said he definitely looked like he could win, and that he made deejaying look easy.

Princess Betty B came next and was determined to 'Mek a gyal mad' according to the lyrics of her song.

The judges were impressed, and Professor Nuts commented that her style and flow were unique. However, Skatta expressed that she should have used up the stage more.

Brain was next and he gave a credible performance in which he ignited the controversial element of the show, where he threw a lyrical punch at Big Pop.

Miss Kitty said that his song was well articulated, and his voice was strong. "It shot, mi like it," she said.

Princess Katty followed Brain's performance, and she was equally pleasing to the patrons, however, she made an error in the second verse that spoilt her glory.

conscious lyrics

The forgiving Miss kitty said she liked the performance, however, next time she must try to keep her lyrics at the front of her head.

Prince Tommy Ice kept the momentum going by giving a professional performance depicting conscious lyrics.

Skatta said he respected the fact that Tommy Ice chose to hold up the positive element of music and that he was impressed with the display of talent.

Fluffy princess Firmm was next and she sang a well-written song. However, she could not maintain the height of her heels in keeping with her action on stage.

Miss Kitty said her attire held her back, but her husky voice sounded good.

Governor also gave a good performance with his song Wey Di Party Deh on the Overproof Rhythm. The song had the venue singing along, and Miss Kitty commented that she was impressed because she did not think of any of the hit songs on the rhythm during his performance.

The strong-voiced Lushus is no stranger to the competition and she came and delivered a strong, confident display of energy and lyrics.

Skatta said her performance was very convincing and that the other contestants should take a page from her book.

The night ended on a high note with prince Deep Jahy delivering a strong performance of his single Wi Nuh Punching Bag.

At the end of the performance, Professor Nuts said he wanted a dubplate for the song, while Skatta said his lyrics were very good and he reminded him of Spragga Benz.

Other performers who did well included Kayla Di Diva and Renny.

Big Pop and Mermaid were the contestants eliminated.
