Star Tell Me Pastor

Controlling girlfriend

Dear Pastor,

I think I am very controlling and demanding of my spouse. We have been together for over nine years. I am 26 years old and he is 10 years older than I am. I cannot stand this relationship. He is not faithful and he cannot satisfy me most of the time. I can't get any money from him because he is always broke. And I am getting tired of the way I am living.

I went to school and I became certified in cosmetology. But at the moment, I can only get a job as a waitress. I have been applying to different places seeking a job since March last year. I am also going to evening classes. I have already paid to sit three CXC subjects in May of this year. Soon, I may have to stop going to classes because we cannot take care of our three children. I get very miserable when there is no money for the kids to go to school. Sometimes we can barely have dinner.

Controlling Girlfriend

Dear Controlling Girlfriend,

You have been offered a job as a waitress. You should just accept the job and stop complaining. While you are working, you can try and find the type of job you would prefer to have but, in the meantime, accept what you can get and give thanks. As a cosmetologist, you can try and go into your own business. Consider doing so when you are able to buy the necessary equipment.
