Defending world indoor 60m champion, Veronica Campbell-Brown, has not quite decided whether or not she will be defending her title at this year's IAAF World Indoor Championships, scheduled for Istanbul, Turkey.

The world 200m champion will be opening her indoor account at this weekend's US Open meet at Madison Square Garden, in New York, where she will line up in the 50m alongside Americans Bianca Knight, Jessica Young and Alexandria Anderson.

However, Campbell-Brown, who recorded the second-fastest time (7.11) of 2011 in the more frequently contested 60m at the same venue last year, has not yet made a decision regarding her participation in the World Indoor Championships, and is now focused on giving herself a few run-outs on the winter circuit before she makes up her mind.

"I am not sure about the World Indoor Championships just yet, I am just going to run a few races and see how I feel. I will however, make a decision soon," Campbell-Brown said recently.

Campbell-Brown is, however, looking forward to her New York date and admitted that she is not too sure what to expect in her first 50m race.

"I am uncertain of what to expect at such a short distance, however. As always, I will give of my best, and New York has always been one of my favourite stops on the athletic circuit," Campbell-Brown said.

"It will be strange to compete in the 'Garden' minus the Millrose Games label; the two have a rich history. It will be equally strange competing at the 50m distance; this will be the shortest distance at which I have ever raced," she added.

In the meantime, the double Olympic 200m champion is looking forward to the upcoming season, with the London 2012 Olympic Games looming.

Campbell-Brown, who won 200m gold medals at the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the second woman to do so, is looking to secure a third gold in London, but is well aware that the challenges start here at home.

"There is a lot of talk about the Olympics and, of course, I am looking forward to it but nothing is guaranteed and I know that it will take a lot of work because we have a lot of very talented women here in Jamaica and I will first have to concentrate on preparing as best as I can to make the team in the first place," said Campbell-Brown, a nine-time World Championships medallist.
