Women fined for wholesale fight

Two women who got into a fight at a wholesale recently over a nail polish remover were both fined $10,000 in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

They are Paulette Williams and Ketiesha Douglas who have been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and unlawful wounding, respectively.

Allegations are that on January 19, Williams visited a wholesale in which Douglas was employed, and an altercation developed between them regarding the size of a nail polish remover which Williams wanted to purchase.

The court heard that Williams who was not happy with the nail polish remover she was given demanded that her money be refunded, however, Douglas began hurling cosmetic products from a nearby shelve in the wholesale at her, causing damage to her upper lip.

Williams also reported that Douglas then proceeded outside of the wholesale with a shovel and attempted to hit her. The matter was reported to the police.

Douglas who has denied the allegations told the court that it was Williams who started the argument and threw a facial scrub at her. Both accused were fined $10,000 or six months in prison.
