Civilian worker arrested for contraband |

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer A civilian worker at the Portmore Police Station in St Catherine is facing criminal charges after he was held at the station trying to carry contraband into the jail on Monday. The Star learnt that the man who helps to clean the cells arrived for duty with a bag. He was observed by a sergeant behaving strangely. The bag he was carrying to the restricted area was searched. It is alleged that the bag contained four cellular phones, fried fish, razor blades which had packages of ganja in them. He was subsequently arrested and placed in custody, while further investigations continue in the matter. |
