Club Privilege in New Kingston was the placed to be last Saturday night when the club hosted The Lounge: Meet, Indulge and Rave. Shortly after midnight, inside the club was scanty but patrons were enjoying the old dancehall/hip-hop vibe created by DJ Crews. One couple was seen displaying their affection for each other by slow dancing when DJ Crews played Vybz Kartel's Slow Motion, much to the delight of the audience members who began to move their bodies to the beat. Patrons later began to trickle in, but by 2 a.m., the club was almost full to capacity as it became difficult to move around. At this point, the 'partiers' had to help themselves to the bar because workers had stopped serving because of the difficulty of getting around. Over at the hassle-free VIP section, patrons sat comfortably and observed the 'regulars' as they raved. The atmosphere was quickly transformed into pure energy when DJ Crews, armed with the mic , shouted, "Everybody fi move to dis tune ya me a guh play!" He then belted out hits like Popcaan's Party Shot, that got many approvals from the energetic crowd. He continued with Mavado's Settle Down, and Vybz Kartel's Bicycle, Whine Up Yuh Body and Dumper Truck, to which the ladies displayed their wining acrobatics skills. Song after song, the selector managed to find hits to keep the crowd raving for a very long time. The event ended at approximately 4 a.m. when satisfied patrons began leaving. |
