Star Tell Me Pastor

Be careful of young girls
Dear Pastor,

I need your advice. I am 45. I got married to a young woman who is the daughter of my friend. She is 25. She lives in America and I was living in Jamaica when we got married. I gave this young woman everything a man can give a woman. The only thing I did not do sell my business and give her the money.

For two years, I sent money to her for put away for us to buy a house. I did not know that while I was sending money to her, she was keeping another man. When I went to America to see her, she didn't want the neighbours to see me. I asked her why and she said they didn't know she was married and would think she is bad. I found that strange. I told her if I am introduced to them as her husband, they wouldn't consider her bad, but she never did. I spent two weeks in America, but only one week at her place.

I came back to Jamaica and continued to send money to her every month for her to save. One day she called me and told me that she was not interested in the marriage anymore and that she had bought a house. I was shocked. I went back to America, and my brother picked me up at the airport. We went to her house and she had moved. We found out that she was living with a man.

I am sure that if my brother were not with me, I would have got into trouble. I want to warn all men from 40 upward, not to take chances with these women. All they want from men in this age group is their money. I have left her to God. She has divorced me, and I now have a decent Jamaican woman who is 44. I met her before I got married. I didn't marry her. We love each other and she is helping me rebuild my life.

Remember, pastor, please warn men to be careful with young girls.

C.L.

Dear C.L.,

I don't have to warn men in the age group you have mentioned because you have already done so. You have been badly burnt. The money you sent for the woman you believed was genuine could have been used to help build your business, save or invest for your retirement.

You should have become aware immediately that something was wrong when you visited your wife, and she did not want the neighbours to see you. Perhaps, the neighbours knew the other man, who was not only visiting her, but also sleeping with her. So if she had introduced you to them, they would have come to realise that she was cheating on you.

I hope this woman in Jamaica will continue to love and help take care of you. Respect her and treat her right. I wish both of you well.

Pastor
