The woman who was shot and injured along Leaders Avenue in Montego Bay, St James, on Wednesday has died.

She has been identified as Carmelita Harvey, a drapery operator of Goodwill in the parish.

Information reaching THE WEEKEND STAR is that Harvey died at the Cornwall Regional Hospital where she was taken after being shot three times.

The police say she was scheduled to appear in court yesterday, to answer to a charge of assault stemming from a land dispute.
