Dancehall producer NotNice is stepping away from musical segregation and wants to work with artistes from all camps for 2012.

News broke last week that the former Gaza affiliated producer had parted ways with his most recent partner Corey Todd. Following the announcement, NotNice told the WEEKEND STAR that he has no interest in musical segregation.

The producer got his 'buss' in the business back in 2008 under the wings of deejay Vybz Kartel. In early 2011, however, the two parted ways shortly after rumours began circulating that the producer had been assaulted.

NotNice now claims that a stigma has been attached to him as a result of the affiliation.

"People place a stigma on me and brand me as a Gaza producer, and now they have me as a J.O.P producer. I want that stigma to end because I want to do productions with everybody like regular producers. I am not supportive of the division," he said.

The producer further said; "When I was in Vybz Kartel's camp, I wanted to work with everybody, but because a Vybz Kartel give mi di highlight I had to be loyal. Mi always rate Mavado as a good artiste, I don't know how serious the damage is but mi never diss anybody in the business. If somebody record on my rhythm and diss a next person it wouldn't be fair to blame me for it, take it up with the artiste."

The producer is now focusing on the launching of his new company Notnice Entertainment, which will be responsible for music video directing, editing, artiste management, booking and production. He is gearing up to release a one drop rhythm featuring Khago, Merital Family among others.

"I want to work with everybody, Bounty, Mavado, Tifa, you name it, mainly artistes I have never worked with before as well as upcoming ones," he said.

According to the producer, NotNice Records is an independent label and will operate as such from now on. In the last part of 2011 the producer's releases such as My Life by Jah Vinci were credited as being a Notnice/Corey Todd Records.

This is like his past collaborations with Vybz Kartel's Adidjahiem Records. The producer revealed that he would no longer release his productions jointly with Corey Todd's label, but maintained that it was a business decision and not a fallout.

"Mi and Corey Todd a friend, him just did a help mi sort out things since mi leave round Vybz Kartel, we did not have a signed agreement, it was more like a friend helping out another and wi still a friend," he said.
