Crystal Harrison, Star Writer A 35-year-old British marketing representative who works for the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has been suspended because of several comments she made about her father's death on the social networking site Facebook. According to a report in the United Kingdom based DailyMail, Zoe Bennett, from Preston, Lancashire, posted three comments on Facebook after she discovered that her 59-year-old father Errol Bennett Sr was attacked by machete-wielding intruders while on holiday in Portland. THE STAR understands that Zoe who is seven months pregnant wrote: "The bhave murdered my dad in Jamaica. My heartbeat, my life has gone." She also wrote: "I will always love you. My daddy RIP I will always love you. I will avenge you, mark my words." Zoe further commented, "The bcan try and kill me too - but ... I will have my eyes open." It is reported that Zoe's father, a retiree, also from Preston, was attacked on December 17 while on a winter break at his villa in Hector's River on the east coast of the island. The former upholsterer who moved to Britain from Jamaica in 1967 suffered 15 separate injuries, including deep wounds to his head and torso. It is reported that on January 5, Zoe received a letter from the JTB telling her that she had been suspended due to 'comments on Facebook' and that it had launched an investigation. Yesterday, when THE STAR made contact with the Ministry of Tourism, a representative said that they were aware of the case. He said, however, that they were unable to give any details on the matter. |
