The police have identified one of two men who were shot and killed at the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Sunset Drive in St Andrew on Saturday.

Dead is 30-year-old Joel Johnson, of Passagefort, St Catherine, and Sevens Heights in May Pen, Clarendon.

The police are yet to identify the other victim who is believed to be in his 30s.

He is of dark complexion, slim build, about five feet eight inches long. He was clad in a blue striped shirt, blue jeans pants and a pair of black and white Nike sneakers.

Reports are that about 8:45 p.m., residents in the area called the police after hearing explosions.

On their arrival, Johnson and the unidentified man were found lying on the road.

Both had been shot several times. Investigations are ongoing.
