Star Tell Me Pastor

Deceptive home wrecker

Dear Pastor,

I am a good Christian, but I have some concerns about a good friend. I have known her for about a year and we got close by working for the same company. I left the company, but she is still there for about six years. I like her as a friend and would like to keep the friendship, but I would like to know how to let her know that what she is doing is wrong and not Christian-like.

The problem is that the company that she works for is owned by a man and his wife, but she refuses to acknowledge his wife and is very close to the boss. Whenever and whatever time he wants her to work, she does it. Whenever she is sick, she makes it. She told me she got baptised before I knew her, so this is why I am confused and shocked by her behaviour. She has convinced herself that she is going to be the boss of his business and it is only a matter of time. And she would adopt a child if he cannot give her one.

She told me a lot of things concerning this man and his business. She said that he is too much of a gentleman to make a fuss at her. She has him thinking that she cares so much about him and his business. She gets a kick out of it, because she thinks that he trusts her more than his wife. She told me a few things that he told her about his wife, which cause me to believe that he is a rude husband. The wife is a very beautiful lady. She is young and smart.

I am worried for her because, if something happens and she gets fired, she will have a nervous breakdown, and she had one already. How can I help her and what can I say to make her see that she is really trying to break up a marriage? I am trying to be a good friend.

Concerned Friend

Dear Concerned Friend,

Even if this woman is having an affair with her boss, his wife is not going to allow her to take over the business, neither will the man. So, tell your friend that she is wasting her time believing that she would eventually become this man's wife and partner in business.
