A Contractor accused of collecting over $40,000 from a man almost two years ago for a blueprint he promised to provide but failed to do so pleaded guilty and had his bail extended until January 19, when he appeared in court on Tuesday. He is Stanley Lewis, 68, from a Eight Miles, Bull Bay, St Andrew, address who will return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on January 19. On that day Lewis is expected to repay the money. Allegations are that sometime in 2010 the accused told the complainant that he was a builder and that he could assist him with getting a blueprint as he had contacts at the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC). According to court documents, on three different occasions the complainant gave the accused money totalling $40,000. It is alleged that when the print was not forthcoming, the complainant went to the KSAC where he was told that no information was submitted for him. After several attempts to get back his money in December 2011 the matter was reported to the police. Lewis was subsequently arrested. |
