Accused lawyer pleads not guilty to fraud |

The lawyer accused of fraudulent conversion of $6.5 million pleaded not guilty in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. Ramon Gordon of a Kingston address is before the courts on a charge of fraudulent conversion of money of about $6.5 million. His case was set for the mention date January 25 with his bail extended. The officer was also bound over. When he appeared in court yesterday, Gordon gave the complainant a cheque amounting to $5.7 million. It is alleged that in December 2007, the complainant went to the accused to get his property sold. The lawyer is alleged to have later received money for the property that belonged to the complainant and his wife but did not hand over the funds. |
