The Kingston Eastern police are on the hunt for three armed thugs who broke into a French student's home and stuffed his mouth with a pair of socks in Eight Miles district, Bull Bay, on Monday morning.

It is reported that the 29-year-old male student who had retired to bed on Sunday evening was later awakened by three men armed with machetes and guns.

THE STAR understands that the men stuffed the student's mouth with a pair of socks and used a piece of cloth to bound his hands and feet.

The men then reportedly proceeded to ransack the student's home before stealing several electronic items.

Some of the items reportedly stolen include a television set and a laptop.

The student was not harmed and the matter was subsequently reported to the police after he managed to free himself.
