The St Catherine South police are investigating the shooting death of a 49-year-old businessman in the parish on Tuesday night.

He has been identified as Christopher Vickers, of a Bowers Estate address in Old Harbour.

Vickers was reportedly gunned down in Colbeck, Old Harbour.

According to the Old Harbour police, about 10:30 p.m., residents heard explosions and summoned them.

When the cops arrived, they found Vickers in his yard with gunshot wounds.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
