Scandalous family affair |

Dear Pastor, I hope you enjoy your holidays. I am having a problem. I just found out that my husband and my sister are having an affair. My husband wants a divorce so he can marry my sister. She was my very, very close sister. We did a lot of things together. I have helped her through hard times. I am angry with her. Do you think I should forgive her, even though she is getting married to my husband? Angry Sister Dear Angry Sister, Your sister and your husband are shameless. What could have caused them to fall so deeply in love with each other, and to have had sex, and for your husband to be planning to divorce you and to marry her? Why would your sister want to destroy the beautiful relationship you shared as sisters? I am sure you would not be able to stop him from divorcing you. I would suggest you speak to an attorney-at-law who will advise you on some actions you could take, so your rights can be protected. It will take the grace of God for you to forgive your sister but I pray that eventually you will not only forgive her but also your husband. I would further suggest you make an appointment to see a family counsellor. You will need all the help you can to keep your sanity. Pastor |
