Khago rocks GT Taylor Xtravaganza |

![]() Khago Recording artiste Khago gave a powerful performance at the GT Taylor Xtravaganza show on Christmas Day in Black River, St. Elizabeth, underlining why he is regarded as one of the best live-show performers in dancehall today.
Hitting the stage singing a reggae song, Across My Heart, he raised the tempo immediately afterwards with his number one hit, Blood a Boil, and the crowd erupted into deafening cheers. Pausing, Khago He then sang the first few lines from Badda Dan Dem before he was forced to 'pull it' because of loud cheers from the audience. He paused to introduce his next song. "Mi just a forward come ah the show, and backstage mi see GT a bawl wid him hand a him head, and mi see a man curl up inna one ball wid yellow tape round him. So when Then he deejayed, "some bwoy go drop the soap and ketch bad mind," and the crowd roared its approval. He then launched into a reggae segment, using his melodious voice to good effect, doing hits such as Nah Mek Dem Drain My Energy, Daddy From Yu Gone and Love Stomach. He paused to throw some lyrical barbs at a fellow deejay. "Mi nuh ungrateful and mi no bun my bridge, mi used to wash such man car, now mi own some fi myself. That is a good bridge fi burn. Mi used to kotch at such man yard, now mi buy land and mi waan some white block fi put pon it. Ah no every bridge ah good bridge," he said.
Then he raised the temperature inside the venue when the 'One Day' rhythm was introduced. The crowd instinctively began to sing the Nah Sell Out Mi Friend Dem hit, word for word, before Khago could even begin singing. He Revelling in the crowd's reaction, he jumped about deejaying Blood a Boil again. More forwards rocked the venue. He deejayed his recent number one song, Tun Up Di Ting, while the crowd waved hands and rocked "2012 ah come, so some bwoy fi go look a gal, dem a call up man name including mine. Ah pure man dem a fight, before dem fight off the clothes offa the gal dem," he joked, before launching into his recent top-ten hit, Tax Inna My World. The declaration, "anno gallis dem, anno gallis dem", was enough to whip fans into a flag-waving frenzy.
Khago also gave a good account of himself at Sting 2011 and is booked next to appear on a club show alongside Bling Dawg and Mavado in Miami, Florida |
