Guinness Christmas events take over Downtown, Portmore |
|||||
The Guinness Girls at Flava Unit's anniversary party. - Contributed The Guinness series of Christmas dancehall events took over Portmore and downtown Kingston simultaneously last Friday. On Wildman Street in Kingston, the ever-popular Guinness Hammer Fridaze was in full swing for another great staging and in Portmore, Guinness celebrated with fast-rising sound system, Flava Unit, at its anniversary party. At the Waterford football field in Portmore, juggling from Coppershot's Marc Chin, Blue Steel, CD Master and Flava Unit's Mother Bling complemented a well-supported Flava Unit's seven year anniversary party. Patrons were also treated to an impressive set of performances from both the selectors and the numerous artistes that performed. The entertainment package included performances by I-Octane, Flexxx, Konshens, Delus, Versatile, Tianna, Chosen and Darrio. In the community of Spoilers in downtown Kingston the vibe was the same as the entire Wildman Street was blocked off by dancehall loyalists who partied with ZJ Wah Wah and Guinness. The introduction of Darkcide International sound system came with a change in tempo of the event, which saw partners coupling up to the instructions of the dancehall songs. Just like in Portmore, the event ended on a high note where patrons left feeling satisfied.
