A mother and daughter who both had their bails extended until January 2 next year 'went at it' in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday when a cross case involving the two was mentioned. Kadean Mcpherson and her mother Stephanie Gordon both of a Kingston 3 address are jointly charged with assault occasioning bodily harm. The court heard that on November 30 about 1 p.m., both the complainant and the accused were at home when a dispute developed between them. It resulted in Mcpherson hitting her mother all over her body with her hands and used a glass jar to hit her on the left breast which caused grievous harm and swelling. Gordon reportedly retaliated and hit back. Notwithstanding the allegations, it was the throwing of words between each other while in the dock which sparked much interest. Gordon told the court that her daughter was disrespectful and was a bad influence on a younger female relative who resides with them in the same house. Gordon claimed that Mcpherson was causing the minor to stay away from school and spend time with her indulging in defiant behaviour. Furthermore, Gordon explained that her daughter works at a popular massage parlour which she was ignorant of and is of the view that such an environment facilitates questionable behaviour. |
